Driving
If you live within 3 ½ hours of your Sedona destination, driving may be the best choice. Cities that are close enough to drive to Sedona include: Phoenix, AZ (2 hours; 116 miles), Tucson, AZ (3 ½ hours; 230 miles), Las Vegas, NV (4 ½ hours; 280 miles), and Albuquerque, NM (5 ¼ hours; 350 miles).
Flying
Sedona Airport (KSEZ) is located on top of a mountain five hundred feet above Sedona and just 2 miles west of Sedona. There are no commercial airlines offering flights in and out of Sedona. You will need to arrange private or charter aircraft into Sedona.
Flagstaff Pullium Airport (FLG) is the closest small commercial airport to Sedona, just a 40-minute scenic drive away through Oak Creek Canyon. United and American Airlines offer connections through Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX, Denver International (DEN) and Dallas Ft. Worth (DFW).
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) is the most popular for most Sedona visitors. It is the closest major international airport to Sedona; just over 2 hours’ drive (119 miles). Phoenix Sky Airport is among the active airports in the world with over 35 million visitors each year.
Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) is the fifth busiest airport in North America and offers nonstop flights from Canada, Germany, Mexico, the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. It is 292 miles; a 5-hour drive from LAS hour drive to Sedona.
Shuttle Bus
The most inexpensive choice for getting to Sedona is by shuttle bus. Operated by Groome Transportation, the shuttle bus leaves from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport seven times a day starting at 7:45am. You catch the shuttle at Terminal 2. The bus trip takes two hours and 45 minutes. The limit for luggage on the shuttle is two 50-pound suitcases and one carry-on item. Pets are not permitted; the only exception is service animals. You can bring your bike along, but it must be properly packaged to prevent damage. To ensure availability, we recommend at least 24-hour notice when seeking a reservation. Train
Amtrak is one of the safest modes of transportation in existence for the final leg of your trip. It offers a comfortable atmosphere for you to relax on your journey from Phoenix to Sedona. The train from Phoenix Station to Williams Station connecting to Sedona takes between 3 and 4 hours. Traveling by train from Phoenix to Sedona is budget-friendly, with train tickets starting at just $54.
